At Least I am Getting Lots of Rest...

Sunday was the final 20 miler before the Nike Women's Marathon. Carin and I started 5 miles south of the park at 5:15. It was still dark out, so I made sure to bring along my head light. We saw another group of girls that we know heading out also, so for the first few miles we ran with them. I am sure it was an interesting sight seeing a pack of runners all equipped with head lamps in the pre-dawn hours! Once we got to the park, Jamie and Kathryn were there to join us (no trusty Cherise today, as her kids were participating in a triathlon that morning!) The weather was holding up reasonably well, it wasn't getting as hot as quick as it usually does. Once we finished our mile in the park, with the last five left it was time to try and pick up the pace a bit. I was shooting to pick it up to about 8:15 or so, but the last mile ended up a little faster at 8:02. It felt great to be able to have a strong finish!

This week I have had our youngest son home sick. I've still been able to run in the morning (although this morning Mark and I had to take shifts because he needed someone home with him). The miles are only backing off a tiny bit this week, with the real tapering starting next week. But being at home with a sick child means...at least I am getting lots of rest! Even though I am taking care of him (and the dogs and the house etc.) there seems to be time to sit with him to keep him company. We've had LOTS of time for puzzles, movies, spongebob, and even a few games. So, it is no fun having to have a sick kiddo, but looking on the bright side I am getting in a lot of extra resting in my legs that I probably would not have done! However, I do hope he is better real soon!!

Yoga Everyday: Still been keeping up with this! Mostly 20- 30 minutes each evening, although last night I did an hour of a more challenging routine, the Tara Stiles DVD.

You forgot to mention time for playing Legos! Actually his timing couldn't have been better, could it? I do hope he's feeling better soon, though. Keep me posted!
